Target Information

Uteroglobin, also known as Clara cell phospholipid-binding protein, is a member of the Secretoglobin superfamily.
It is a multifunctional protein that can exert anti-inflammatory and anti-tumorigenic effects by binding small hydrophobic molecules such as phospholipids and prostaglandins.
This small, non-glycosylated protein is highly expressed in pre-implantation embryos and produced by non-ciliated, non-mucous Clara cells of pulmonary airways and other epithelia.
Secretoglobin family members are small, secretory homo- or heterodimers with high structural conservation.
Uteroglobin is implicated in the inhibition of cell migration, invasion, platelet aggregation, and T cell differentiation.
