Target Information
이 유전자가 암호화하는 단백질은 aldehyde dehydrogenase 유전자 패밀리의 7번 서브패밀리에 속합니다. 이 효소들은 알코올 대사 및 지질 과산화에 의해 생성된 aldehyde의 해독에 주요 역할을 합니다. 해당 단백질은 완두콩의 turgor protein과 상동성을 가지며, 미토콘드리아 매트릭스에서 일어나는 lysine 대사에 관여합니다. 최근 연구에 따르면, 이 단백질은 세포질과 미토콘드리아 모두에서 발견되며, 두 형태는 번역 개시 부위의 차이에 의해 생성되는 것으로 보입니다. 또한 다른 isoform을 암호화하는 변이체도 존재합니다. 이 유전자의 돌연변이는 pyridoxine-dependent epilepsy와 관련이 있습니다. 관련된 여러 pseudogene도 확인되었습니다.
