Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The initiation of protein synthesis in eukaryotic cells is regulated by interactions between initiation factors and RNA molecules. The eukaryotic initiation complex includes three subunits: eIF2 alpha, eIF2 beta, and eIF2 gamma. These subunits form a ternary complex with GTP and tRNA during early protein synthesis.
eIF2S3 (also known as eIF2G) is a 472-amino-acid protein belonging to the gamma subfamily of GTP-binding elongation factor proteins. It functions as part of a heterotrimer (alpha, beta, gamma) that binds ribosomal subunits and catalyzes preinitiation complex formation necessary for translation initiation.
