Target Information
Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-κB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene located on chromosome 11 in humans.
NF-κB p65, also known as RelA, belongs to the Rel family of proteins and forms a heterodimer with p50 or p52 subunits.
Upon TNFα stimulation, phosphorylation of IKK leads to IκB phosphorylation and subsequent proteasomal degradation, allowing NF-κB activation.
It plays a key role in transcription of the immunoglobulin κ gene in mature B-lymphoid cells.
