The Frosty Cyan Fluorescence Protein (FrCFP) is under regulatory control of the minimal CMV promoter in this plasmid giving low level expression of the FrCFP transgene in most types of mammalian cells. Positive or negative regulatory elements can be introduced upstream of the minimal promtoer using a specially-positioned MCS to endow your required responsiveness. For example transcription factor binding sites could be introduced to provide tissue-selective transgene expression. Similarly drug-responsive sites could be introduced to provide expression regulated by externally-applied drugs.

Promoter Expression Level: This plasmid contains the minimal CMV immediate early promoter with a multiple cloning site immediately upstream that allows transcription factor binding sites to be inserted. This allows tissue specific or physiologically responsive promoters to be created.
