A beta galactosidase reporter plasmid for the expression of genes in Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast cells. The beta galactosidase reporter is driven by the yeast TPI promoter which is a strong constitutive promoter. The plasmid contains the TEF1 promoter to drive the expression of a gene of interest. This is one of the strongest promoters in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The vector also encodes a gene that is an essentail component of the uracil synthesis pathway which allows the plasmid to be grown in cells deficient for this gene using media that does not contain uracil.

Promoter Expression Level: This plasmid contains the yeast translation elongation factor 1 promoter. It is the strongest promoter that we provide for expression in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. It also contains the strong yeast constitutive triosephosphate isomerase (TPI1) gene promoter to drive the expression of the reporter gene. The TPI promoter demonstrates similar levels of expression to the translation elongation factor 1 promoter (TEF-1).
