Specificity: FR4D11 antibody recognizes CD10, a cell surface enzyme with neutral metalloendopeptidase activity that inactivates various biologically active peptides.
CD10 is expressed on lymphoblastic, Burkitt’s, and follicular germinal center lymphoma cells, and on cells from patients with chronic myelocytic leukemia (CML).

Target Information

CD10 (Common Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia Antigen, CALLA) is a cell surface enzyme with neutral metalloendopeptidase activity that inactivates a variety of biologically active peptides.
It is expressed on lymphoblastic, Burkitt’s, and follicular germinal center lymphoma cells, immature B cells in adult bone marrow, and on cells from patients with CML.
CD10 is also present on breast myoepithelial cells, bile canaliculi, fibroblasts, and highly expressed on kidney and gut epithelial brush borders.
As a neutral endopeptidase, CD10 cleaves peptides at the amino side of hydrophobic residues and inactivates peptide hormones such as glucagon, enkephalins, substance P, neurotensin, oxytocin, and bradykinin.
It is a 100 kDa type II transmembrane glycoprotein encoded by a single-copy gene (>45 kb), with four alternatively spliced mRNA transcripts that do not affect the coding region.
Diseases associated with CD10 dysfunction include spinocerebellar ataxia 43 and Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.
