Target Information
The RAP1A gene encodes a member of the RAS-related protein family, sharing approximately 50% amino acid identity with classical RAS proteins and similar structural features. A key difference is at the 61st amino acid, where glutamine in RAS is replaced by threonine in RAP proteins. RAP1A counteracts the mitogenic function of RAS by competitively interacting with RAS GAPs and RAF. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
