Target Information
Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor associated factors (TRAFs) are adaptor proteins that link the TNF receptor superfamily to signaling pathways, regulating cell death and stress responses. TRAF2 and TRAF3 bind directly to CD40, a receptor involved in B cell immunity, and are critical for NF-kappa-B activation in mouse B lymphocytes. TRAF2, together with TRAF6, is required for CD40 signaling in nonhemopoietic cells. Additionally, TRAF2 interacts with the lymphotoxin-beta receptor (LTbetaR) along with TRAF3 and apoptosis inhibitors cIAP1 and Smac.
