Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
Carbonic anhydrase (CA) is an enzyme that assists in the rapid interconversion of carbon dioxide and water into carbonic acid, protons, and bicarbonate ions. It is abundant in all mammalian tissues.
CA IX is one of the most inducible genes under hypoxia, regulated via HIF-1 alpha, and is located within the membrane. Carbonic anhydrases regulate pH in normal tissues by controlling hydrogen ion (H⁺) flux. Under hypoxia, inhibition of CA IX increases cell death, making CA IX a reliable histochemical marker of hypoxia.
