Target Information
IRAK3 (interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase 3) is a serine/threonine kinase and a member of the IRAK protein family, essential components of the Toll/IL-R immune signal transduction pathways. It is primarily expressed in monocytes and macrophages, functioning as a negative regulator of Toll-like receptor signaling. IRAK3 mediates critical aspects of innate immunity that can result in an immunocompromised state during sepsis. Mutations in IRAK3 are associated with susceptibility to asthma.
