• Reconstitution: Briefly centrifuge vial before opening to collect contents at the bottom. Reconstitute lyophilized protein in sterile distilled water to 0.1–1.0 mg/mL. Further dilutions should be made in tissue culture grade buffered solutions with heat-inactivated fetal calf serum or low endotoxin BSA.
• Storage: Lyophilized form should be stored at 2–8°C, preferably desiccated. Reconstituted protein should be stored at < -20°C (not in frost-free freezer). Minimize freeze-thaw cycles.

Target Information

CXCL12 is a stromal cell-derived alpha chemokine belonging to the intercrine family. Together with its receptor CXCR4, it activates lymphocytes and is implicated in cancer metastasis (e.g., breast cancer). Mutations in CXCL12 are linked to resistance against HIV-1 infection. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
