Target Information
The MRP family includes nine similar ABC transporters capable of transporting structurally diverse lipophilic anions and functioning as efflux pumps.
MRP7 (multidrug resistance-associated protein 7, ATP-binding cassette sub-family C member 10) is a multi-pass membrane protein belonging to the ABC transporter family.
It mediates ATP-dependent transport of 17β-estradiol-D-17-β-glucuronide (E217βG) and may play a role in cellular detoxification via lipophilic anion extrusion.
MRP7 contains two ABC transmembrane type 1 domains and two ABC transporter domains, with three known isoforms. Isoform 2 is widely expressed, while isoform 1 is predominant in the spleen.
