Product Specific Information

The 61D3 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD14, a 53–55 kDa GPI-linked glycoprotein expressed on monocytes, interfollicular macrophages, and some dendritic cells. Complexes of LPS and LBP bind with high affinity to monocytes through surface CD14.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended ≤1 µg/test. A test is defined as the amount (µg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 µL. Cell number should be determined empirically (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Antibody titration is recommended for optimal performance.

Target Information

CD14 is a 55 kDa GPI-anchored glycoprotein constitutively expressed on mature monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. It acts as a multifunctional lipopolysaccharide (LPS) receptor and exists in both membrane-bound and soluble forms. CD14 binds LPS via LPS-binding protein (LBP), aiding in immune recognition and neutralization. Soluble CD14 (sCD14) can detect structural differences in LPS and plays roles in allergic, inflammatory, and infectious processes. It also binds apoptotic cells and is implicated in conditions such as Mycobacterium chelonae infection and croup.
