Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The CDKN2A gene produces several transcript variants with distinct first exons. At least three alternatively spliced variants encode different proteins, two of which act as CDK4 kinase inhibitors.
Another transcript, located upstream, encodes an alternate open reading frame (ARF) protein that stabilizes tumor suppressor p53 by interacting with and sequestering MDM2, preventing p53 degradation.
Despite structural differences, both CDK inhibitor isoforms and the ARF product share a role in regulating cell cycle G1 progression.
Mutations or deletions of this gene are common in various tumors, highlighting its importance as a tumor suppressor gene.
