IFIT2는 IFIT 단백질 패밀리에 속하며, 6개의 TPR 반복 서열을 포함합니다. IFIT 유전자는 마우스에서 Ifit1, Ifit2, Ifit3 세 가지, 인간에서는 IFIT1, IFIT2, IFIT3, IFIT5 네 가지 멤버를 포함합니다. IFIT 단백질은 바이러스 감염, 인터페론(IFN) 처리, 병원체 인식 시 면역 반응 과정에서 생성되어 바이러스 감염에 대한 면역을 부여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
