Target Information
ZNF598 (E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase ZNF598) plays a key role in the ribosome quality control (RQC).
RQC occurs when a ribosome stalls during translation and is required for ribosomes to terminally stall during translation of poly(A) sequences.
ZNF598 mediates monoubiquitination of 40A ribosomal proteins RPS10/eS10 and RPS3/uS3, preventing synthesis of aberrant poly-lysine tails and initiating the RQC pathway to degrade defective nascent polypeptides.
