Target Information
Ribosomes are organelles that catalyze protein synthesis, consisting of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. These subunits comprise 4 RNA species and approximately 80 distinct proteins.
The RPL35A gene encodes a ribosomal protein that is part of the 60S subunit and belongs to the L35AE family. It is localized in the cytoplasm. The rat homolog binds both initiator and elongator tRNAs, positioning it at the P or A sites of the ribosome.
