For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

MCL1 (Myeloid cell leukemia-1) is a member of the Bcl-2 family involved in cell viability and apoptosis regulation.

• Isoform 1 inhibits apoptosis, while isoform 2 promotes it.
• Shares sequence homology with Bcl-2 at the carboxy terminal.
• Expression increases in response to DNA damage (e.g., ionizing radiation, UV, alkylating agents).
• Localized mainly in mitochondria and contributes to cell survival during differentiation.
• MCL1 may inhibit apoptosis by neutralizing pro-apoptotic proteins such as Bim or Bak.
• Expressed in multiple cell types and essential for embryogenesis and lymphocyte development.
• Exists as two isoforms: MCL1L (anti-apoptotic) and MCL1S (pro-apoptotic).
