Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Directed against human ASPP1. Minimal reactivity occurs against ASPP2. A BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with ASPP1 from mouse based on 92% homology with the immunizing sequence. Reactivity against homologues from other sources is not known.
Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the ASPP family of p53 interacting proteins. The protein contains four ankyrin repeats and an SH3 domain involved in protein-protein interactions. ASPP proteins are required for the induction of apoptosis by p53-family proteins. They promote DNA binding and transactivation of p53-family proteins on the promoters of proapoptotic genes.
Expression of this gene is regulated by the E2F transcription factor.
