This antibody stains human ADRA1B transfectants but not irrelevant transfectants.
Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
The alpha-1b adrenoceptor is an Adrenergic Receptor that causes contraction of smooth muscle cells and thereby controls vascular tone and blood pressure. It accelerates the development of atherosclerosis and is associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
This receptor can act as a proto-oncogene when constitutively activated, inducing neoplastic transformation in transfected cell lines.
The alpha-1b adrenoceptor is expressed in adrenal, aorta, blood, various brain regions, eye, heart, kidney, liver, prostate, spinal cord, and spleen. ESTs have been isolated from kidney (normal and cancer) and lung carcinoma libraries.
