TPM3 (tropomyosin 3)는 액틴 결합 단백질군인 트로포미오신 패밀리에 속하며, 횡문근과 평활근의 수축계 및 비근세포의 세포골격에 관여합니다. 트로포미오신은 코일-코일 단백질 이합체로서 액틴 필라멘트의 홈을 따라 말단 간 결합하며, 필라멘트 안정화 및 다른 액틴 결합 단백질의 접근을 조절합니다. 근육세포에서는 미오신 머리의 액틴 결합을 조절하여 근육 수축을 조절합니다. TPM3 유전자의 돌연변이는 상염색체 우성 네말린 근병증을 유발하며, 염색체 전좌로 인한 종양 유전자 형성은 암과 관련이 있습니다. 다양한 전사 변이체가 보고되어 있습니다.
