Target Information

DYRK2 (dual-specificity tyrosine-(Y)-phosphorylation regulated kinase 2) is a member of the DYRK family of protein kinases involved in cellular growth and development. It is characterized by structural similarity in kinase domains and the ability to autophosphorylate on tyrosine residues. DYRK2 expressed in E. coli demonstrates tyrosine autophosphorylation and catalyzes phosphorylation of histones H3 and H2B in vitro. It also regulates p53 to induce apoptosis in response to DNA damage.
