Target Information
PUF60 encodes a Ro RNP-binding protein that interacts with Ro RNPs, potentially providing a gain of function. It forms a ternary complex with far upstream element (FUSE) and FUSE-binding protein, repressing a c-myc reporter via FUSE. It also targets transcription factor IIH and inhibits activated transcription. This gene is implicated in xeroderma pigmentosum disorder and has two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms. Multiple polyadenylation sites are also reported.
