IL-1 alpha (Interleukin-1 alpha)는 단핵구, 대식세포, 수지상세포에서 발현되는 염증성 사이토카인으로, IL1A 유전자에 의해 암호화되며 IL-1RI 및 IL-1RII 수용체를 통해 신호를 전달합니다. IL1A는 염증 반응, 면역 조절, 조혈 과정에 관여하며, NF-kappaB 및 MAPK 경로를 조절합니다. 또한 IL-1RA에 의해 경쟁적으로 억제될 수 있습니다. 높은 IL-1 alpha 수준은 류머티즘 관절염, 건선, 다발성 경화증 등 만성 염증성 질환과 관련이 있습니다.
