Target Information
EB1 family proteins are evolutionarily conserved proteins that bind microtubule plus-ends and centrosomes, regulating microtubule dynamics and organization. The MAPRE genes encode the EB1 family proteins: MAPRE1 (EB1), MAPRE2 (RP1), and MAPRE3 (EBF3). EB1 is a microtubule-associated protein that interacts with the APC tumor-suppressor protein, playing key roles in microtubule dynamics, cell polarity, and chromosome stability. The EB1 (MAPRE1) gene, located at 20q11.2, has been identified in fusion with MLL in a patient with pro-B acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
