Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody 2G7 reacts to CD84, a transmembrane protein of the Ig SLAM superfamily. CD84 is expressed on mature B cells, a subset of T cells (mainly CD4+CD45RA+), monocytes, and platelets, as well as a fraction of human hematopoietic progenitor (CD34+) cells.
Signaling through CD84 involves phosphorylation and recruitment of SAP and EAT-2, leading to IFNγ production and T cell activation.

Applications Reported: Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells.
Use at 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test. A test is defined as the amount of antibody that stains a cell sample in a final volume of 100 µL. Cell number can range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test.

Target Information

CD84 is expressed on mature B cells and B cell lines (including pre-B cell lines), but not on plasma cell lines. It is strongly expressed on tissue macrophages and highly expressed on platelets, while peripheral blood T cells show low expression.
CD84 is a highly glycosylated protein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily and may play a role in leukocyte activation.
