Target Information
ANKK1 serine/threonine kinase is a member of the RIPK family and is closely linked to the DRD2 gene. ANKK1 is located on chromosome 11, near the DRD2 gene. A well-studied restriction fragment length polymorphism designated TaqIA, originally associated with the DRD2 gene, was later determined to be located in exon 8 of the ANKK1 gene, where it causes a nonconservative amino acid substitution. The role of ANKK1 in neuropsychiatric disorders associated with the Taq1A RFLP remains unclear.
