Product Specific Information
1 µg/mL of MA5-45170 was sufficient for detection of LAMP2 in 20 µg of rat liver microsomes by ECL immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. Detects approximately 100–110 kDa.
Target Information
LAMP2 (Lysosome-associated membrane glycoprotein 2, CD107b) is a lysosomal membrane glycoprotein involved in lysosome biogenesis and fusion with phagosomes. It plays roles in tumor cell metastasis, lysosomal maintenance, and chaperone-mediated autophagy.
Prior to posttranslational modification, LAMP2 is a 46 kDa polypeptide; the mature form is 100–130 kDa due to extensive glycosylation.
LAMP2 has three variant forms (LAMP-2A, -2B, -2C) and, together with LAMP-1 (CD107a), constitutes major lysosomal membrane components.
Deficiency in LAMP2 leads to accumulation of autophagosomes, resulting in cardiomyopathy and myopathy (Danon’s disease).
