Target Information

Albumin is a soluble, monomeric protein (~65–67 kDa) comprising about half of blood serum protein.
Human serum albumin (HSA) is the most abundant plasma protein with a serum half-life of ~20 days.
It functions as a carrier for steroids, fatty acids, and thyroid hormones, and helps stabilize extracellular fluid volume.
Albumin binds water, Ca²⁺, Na⁺, K⁺, fatty acids, hormones, bilirubin, and drugs, and regulates colloidal osmotic pressure of blood.
