Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of FANCD2 only when phosphorylated at Thr691.
Target Information
FANCD2 (Fanconi anemia group D2 protein) is required for maintenance of chromosomal stability and promotes accurate and efficient pairing of homologs during meiosis. It is involved in the repair of DNA double-stranded breaks through homologous recombination and single-stranded annealing. FANCD2 is also required for the targeting and stabilization of BLM to non-centromeric abnormal structures induced by replicative stress, and it promotes BRCA2/FANCD1 loading onto damaged chromatin.
Defects in the FANCD2 gene result in Fanconi anemia complementation group D2, a disorder affecting all bone marrow elements and resulting in anemia, leukopenia, and thrombopenia.
