Product Specific Information

This antibody detects endogenous levels of Zyxin only when phosphorylated at Ser143.

Target Information

Zyxin is involved in focal adhesions, which are actin-rich structures that enable cells to adhere to the extracellular matrix and serve as sites for signal transduction complex assembly. It is a zinc-binding phosphoprotein concentrated at focal adhesions and along the actin cytoskeleton.
Zyxin contains an N-terminal proline-rich domain and three LIM domains in its C-terminal half. The proline-rich domain may interact with SH3 domains of proteins involved in signaling pathways, while the LIM domains are likely involved in protein–protein interactions.
Zyxin may function as a messenger in adhesion-stimulated gene expression changes and modulate actin bundle organization. Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants encoding the same isoform.
