Product Specific Information

  • Reconstitute in 500 µL of sterile water.
  • Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
  • The antigen is homologous in many species including mouse and rat.
  • Specificity: CACNB4.

Target Information

This gene encodes a beta subunit of voltage-dependent calcium channels. These channels mediate calcium ion influx upon membrane polarization and consist of alpha-1, alpha-2/delta, beta, and gamma subunits in a 1:1:1:1 ratio. The beta subunit modulates G protein inhibition, increases peak calcium current, controls alpha-1 subunit targeting, and shifts activation/inactivation voltage dependence.
Mutations in this gene are associated with idiopathic generalized epilepsy and juvenile myoclonic epilepsy. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
