Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts with an extracellular epitope of CD45RA, a 205–220 kDa single-chain type I glycoprotein and a variant of CD45 (CD45RA isoform). CD45RA is expressed on most B lymphocytes, resting and naïve T lymphocytes, medullary thymocytes, and monocytes.
Target Information
CD45RA is an isoform of the CD45 complex and has restricted expression among lymphoid cell subtypes. CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising about 10% of lymphocyte surface proteins. It plays a key role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling by regulating Src-family kinases.
CD45 isoforms arise from alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic regions. Their expression varies by cell type and physiological state. CD45 also influences integrin-mediated signaling and is involved in apoptosis-related DNA fragmentation. It is expressed in hematopoietic cells except mature red cells, and its dysfunction is linked to severe combined immunodeficiency and Hepatitis C.
