This antibody recognizes a sialidase-sensitive extracellular epitope of CD45RB, a 180–240 kDa single-chain type I membrane glycoprotein and variant of CD45 (CD45RB isoform).
CD45RB is expressed on subsets of T lymphocytes, B lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, granulocytes, and dendritic cells.
Target Information
CD45RB is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase (CD45 glycoprotein).
CD45 is essential for lymphocyte development and antigen signaling, acting as a regulator of Src-family kinases and promoting cell survival via integrin-mediated signaling.
It is also involved in DNA fragmentation during apoptosis.
CD45 isoforms share identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic domains but differ in extracellular regions, influencing localization and expression depending on cell type and physiological state.
CD45RB is expressed in microglia and inflammatory cells.
