Product Specific Information
- Store vial at -20°C prior to opening.
- Aliquot and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage.
- Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
- Centrifuge if not clear after standing at room temperature.
- Stable for several weeks at 4°C as undiluted liquid.
- Dilute only immediately before use.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Mouse Serum. Reactivity is observed against recombinant GFP from Aequorea victoria by both Western blot and ELISA. No cross-reactivity with RFP was observed.
Target Information
The jellyfish Aequorea victoria produces Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP), which emits green light during bioluminescence. GFP is widely used as a reporter protein in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic systems and as a tag for protein localization studies. It enables visualization of protein movement and subcellular dynamics. GFP is a 27 kDa monomeric protein that forms its fluorescent chromophore autocatalytically, absorbing at 395 nm and emitting at 508 nm. Its fluorescence is stable and species-independent, suitable for diverse applications including gene expression monitoring, protein localization, protein–protein interaction studies (e.g., yeast two-hybrid), and FRET experiments.
