Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They consist of a mixture of multiple different recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity and consistency of monoclonal antibodies.
Each lot is produced from a defined set of recombinant light and heavy chain sequences, eliminating biological variability.

Target Information

Alpha-1-Antitrypsin (Alpha-1-AT) is synthesized in the liver and acts as an inhibitor of proteases such as trypsin, elastase, chymotrypsin, collagenase, leucocytic proteases, plasmin, and thrombin, which may be released during inflammatory reactions in the lung.
Deficiency of alpha-1-AT leads to unregulated protease activity, causing pulmonary tissue damage associated with chronic obstructive lung disease (emphysema) and, less frequently, hepatic cirrhosis in infants and respiratory distress in newborns.
Alpha-1-AT levels increase as an acute phase response to tissue necrosis and inflammation and are elevated in conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, bacterial infections, vasculitis, and carcinomatosis.
