CHEK2 (CHK2)는 세린/트레오닌 키나아제로, DNA 손상 체크포인트 경로의 주요 구성 요소입니다.
CHK2의 돌연변이는 암과 관련이 있으며, DNA 손상 시 활성화되어 세포 주기 조절 관련 단백질들을 인산화합니다.
또한 BRCA1을 인산화하여 DNA 손상 후 생존 복구를 돕습니다.
CHK2는 종양 억제 단백질로 알려져 있으며, Li-Fraumeni 증후군, 유전성 TP53 변이, 육종, 유방암, 뇌종양 등의 발병과 관련이 있습니다.
