Product Specific Information
The ICRF44 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD11b, a 165 kDa adhesion molecule associated with integrin beta2 (CD18). CD11b is expressed on monocytes, granulocytes, activated lymphocytes, and a subset of NK cells. It serves as a receptor for ICAM family members (CD54, CD102, CD50) and iC3b, essential for cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions.
- Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
- Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and validated for flow cytometry using human peripheral blood cells (5 µL per test)
- Dye Information: Brilliant Violet™ 480 emits at 479 nm; suitable for cytometers with a 405 nm violet laser
- Buffer Recommendation: Use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (#SB-4401-42) or Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (#00-4409-75) when combining multiple polymer dyes

Target Information
CD11b (integrin alpha-M, ITGAM) forms a heterodimer with CD18 (integrin beta-2), known as Mac-1 or CR3. It is expressed on monocytes/macrophages, granulocytes, activated lymphocytes, NK cells, dendritic cells, and microglia. Functions as a receptor for ICAM-1, ICAM-2, ICAM-4, CD14, CD50, CD23, heparin, iC3b, fibrinogen, and Factor X.
CD11b is a marker for microglia and macrophage maturation, with variable expression across tissues. Dysfunction is associated with systemic lupus erythematosus and ITGAM-related susceptibility disorders.
