Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This affinity purified antibody is directed against mouse LDB2. A BLAST analysis suggests reactivity with this protein from mouse, human, chimpanzee, dog, rat, and chicken based on 100% homology for the immunogen sequence. Cross-reactivity with LDB2 homologues from other sources has not been determined.

Target Information

Genes encoding LIM domain-binding factors were initially isolated in a screen for proteins that physically interact with the LIM domains of nuclear proteins. These proteins, such as the one encoded by the LDB2 gene, can bind to a variety of transcription factors and likely function at enhancers to bring together diverse transcription factors and form higher-order activation complexes, or to block formation of such complexes.

The family of genes encoding LIM domain-binding factors includes two members isolated from the mouse, Clim1 and Clim2/Lbd1/Nli, and their homologs cloned from frog, chicken, and fly. These factors are likely involved in coordinating the transcriptional activity of many diverse factors, potentially implicating them in human phenotypes characterized by multiple affected sites.
