Product Specific Information

Description:
Monoclonal mouse IgG2b kappa is a useful isotype control immunoglobulin for flow cytometry applications.

Applications Reported:
Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes and normal human peripheral blood cells. Use at the same concentration as the experimental antibody.

Fluorochrome Information:
Brilliant Ultra Violet™ 805 (BUV805) emits at 797 nm and is intended for cytometers equipped with a 355 nm ultraviolet laser. Ensure instrument compatibility.

Buffer Recommendations:
When using multiple polymer dye-conjugated antibodies (Super Bright, Brilliant Violet™, Brilliant Ultra Violet™), use:

• Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401)
• Brilliant Stain Buffer (Product # 00-4409-75)

These buffers minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Light Sensitivity:
Protect the vial and stained samples from light to prevent photo-induced oxidation.

Fixation:
Samples can be stored for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark using:

• IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222)
• 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333)

BUV805 is compatible with short-term methanol fixation but should not be stored in methanol-containing buffers for longer than one hour.

Target Information

Mouse IgG2b is a subtype of immunoglobulin G produced by B cells in response to antigens. It is the third most abundant IgG subtype in serum and contributes to:

• Opsonization
• Complement activation
• Antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity

It also regulates immune responses through T cell activation and B cell inhibition. Widely used in research and diagnostics (ELISA, Western blot, immunohistochemistry), and in therapeutic development such as immunotherapy and vaccine research.
