• Preparation: Produced from sera of goats immunized with highly pure Recombinant Murine IL-18BP. The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and subsequently biotinylated.
• Sandwich ELISA: For detection of Murine IL-18BP, use 0.25–1.0 µg/mL antibody (100 µL/well). In combination with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Murine IL-18BP (500-P153G) as a capture antibody, detection sensitivity reaches 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Murine IL-18BP.
• Western Blot: Use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL to detect mIL-18BP. Detection limit is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.
• Packaging: 500-P153GBT-1MG supplied as 2 × 500 µg.

Target Information

Interleukin-18 binding protein (IL-18BP) is a constitutively secreted glycoprotein that acts as a natural antagonist for IL-18 by preventing its receptor interaction. This neutralization reduces IFN-γ production by Th1 cells and inhibits CTL activity through enhanced NK cell cytotoxicity.
IL-18BP plays a key role in skin homeostasis and has been associated with inflammatory and autoimmune diseases such as eczema, asthma, and Crohn’s disease.
Upregulation of IL-18BP by HPV E7-expressing keratinocytes decreases IL-18-induced IFN-γ production and T-cell activation. Elevated IL-18 and IL-18BP levels, along with cytokines IFN-γ, TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-8, are observed in chronic inflammation and Crohn’s disease lesions.
IL-18BP belongs to the immunoglobulin-like receptor class and contains one Ig domain; two of four human isoforms (b and d) have incomplete domains, reducing binding affinity.
