• Preparation: Produced from sera of goats immunized with highly pure Recombinant Murine IL-18BP. Anti-Murine IL-18BP antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and biotinylated.
• Sandwich ELISA: For detection of Murine IL-18BP, use 0.25–1.0 µg/mL antibody solution (100 µL/well). In conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Murine IL-18BP (500-P153G) as capture antibody, detects at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Murine IL-18BP.
• Western Blot: Use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL for detection of mIL-18BP. Detection limit: 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.
• Package: 500-P153GBT-1MG supplied as 2 × 500 µg.

Target Information

Interleukin-18 binding protein (IL-18BP) is a constitutively secreted glycoprotein that functions as a natural antagonist of interleukin-18 (IL-18) by preventing receptor interaction. This neutralization reduces IFN-γ production by Th1 cells and inhibits cytotoxic T lymphocyte activity while enhancing NK cell cytotoxicity.
IL-18BP plays a key role in skin homeostasis and has been associated with diseases such as eczema, asthma, and Crohn’s disease. Upregulation by keratinocytes expressing HPV E7 reduces IL-18-induced IFN-γ production and T cell activation. Elevated IL-18 and IL-18BP levels are observed in chronic inflammatory conditions, particularly in macrophages from Crohn’s disease lesions.
IL-18BP belongs to the immunoglobulin-like receptor family and contains a single Ig domain; some isoforms have incomplete domains reducing binding affinity.
