Target Information
Peroxisome은 거의 모든 진핵세포에 존재하며, 페놀, 알코올, 알데하이드 등의 독성 물질 변형과 장쇄 지방산의 β-산화 대사를 담당합니다. Peroxisomal 기능 손실은 Zellweger 증후군, hyperpipecolic acidemia, neonatal adrenoleukodystrophy, infantile Refsum disease 등의 질환을 유발할 수 있습니다. Peroxisomal membrane protein 70 (PMP70)은 peroxisome의 주요 막 단백질로, hypolipidemic agent 처리 시 peroxisome 증식 및 β-산화 효소 활성 증가와 함께 유도됩니다.
