Target Information
Peroxisomes는 대부분의 진핵세포에 존재하는 단일막 소기관으로, 다양한 생화학적 경로에 관여합니다. 페놀, 알코올, 알데하이드 등의 독성 물질이 peroxisomes에서 변형되며, 장쇄 지방산의 β-산화도 이 기관에서 매개됩니다. Peroxisomal 기능 손실은 Zellweger 증후군, hyperpipecolic acidemia, neonatal adrenoleukodystrophy, infantile Refsum disease 등의 질환을 초래할 수 있습니다. Peroxisomal membrane protein 70 (PMP70)은 peroxisome의 풍부한 막 단백질로, 저지질혈증 유발제 처리 시 peroxisome 증식 및 β-산화 효소 자극과 함께 유도됩니다.
