Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of 5-Lipoxygenase only when phosphorylated at Ser664.
Target Information
The ALOX5 gene encodes a protein required for leukotriene synthesis in conjunction with the Arachidonate 5-lipoxygenase-activating protein. Leukotrienes are arachidonic acid metabolites involved in inflammatory responses such as asthma, arthritis, and psoriasis. The protein localizes to the plasma membrane, and inhibitors of its function block translocation of 5-lipoxygenase from the cytoplasm to the membrane, thereby inhibiting activation.
