Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
Xeroderma pigmentosum type G (XPG) is a human genetic disease exhibiting extreme sensitivity to sunlight. The XPG protein, part of the flap endonuclease 1 (FEN-1) family, is essential for DNA repair of UV-induced damages. Human XPG nuclease makes the 3′ incision during nucleotide excision repair of DNA and cleaves DNA bubble structures near junctions of unpaired and duplex regions. A 29-amino acid region (residues 981–1009) contains PCNA binding activity, and Arg992 is crucial for this interaction. Replication Protein A (RPA) binds directly to XPA and XPG proteins involved in excision repair.
