Product Specific Information
- Reconstitution: Add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
- For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
SOX9 plays a critical role in sex determination and differentiation of Sertoli cells. It is involved in chondrogenesis and regulates the expression of genes associated with cartilage formation as a transcription factor. Translocation of SOX9 can cause campomelic dysplasia.
It contributes to testis formation from fetal gonads and is a major factor in neuron-glia differentiation in the developing spinal cord. SOX9 supports prostate epithelial development and maintenance, and its dysregulation is linked to prostate cancer progression.
Additionally, SOX9 directs neural crest precursor formation and regulates melanin production. Expression is observed in adult testis, adult heart, and fetal brain (Northern blot analysis).
