Antibody detects endogenous levels of total MSMB.
Target Information
MSMB protein is a member of the immunoglobulin binding factor family. It is synthesized by epithelial cells of the prostate gland and secreted into seminal plasma. This protein exhibits inhibin-like activity and may act as an autocrine or paracrine factor in uterine, breast, and other female reproductive tissues. Its expression is decreased in prostate cancer. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described, and alternate polyadenylation sites are also used for this gene.
