Product Specific Information
This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.
Advantages include:
- High specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulation
- Broader immunoreactivity due to the rabbit immune repertoire
This antibody has specificity for human Tie2/CD202b/TEK.
Target Information
The TEK receptor tyrosine kinase is expressed primarily in endothelial cells and plays a critical role in endothelial cell–smooth muscle cell communication during venous morphogenesis. Defects in TEK are associated with inherited venous malformations. The ligand angiopoietin-1 binds to TEK and mediates signaling involved in embryonic vascular development. TIE2 expression is upregulated by thyroid-stimulating hormone and agents that increase intracellular cAMP. Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) expressing TIE2 are quiescent, antiapoptotic, and form a side population adhering to osteoblasts in the bone marrow niche.
